Training for professionals
Slough DAAT have developed a training programme to accomodate an identified need for basic 'Tier 1' training in Slough's workforce (Tier 1 service providers are agencies that may engage with substance misusers but do not have a drug specific focus). The courses aim to provide a more basic understanding of substance misuse for those that refer into our services. We hope for this training to make staff in the Borough more aware of good practice when working with substance misusers in their role and bring about positive change in the area.
Our training will be delivered by trained facilitators experienced in working with those who work in the substance misuse field. A variety of learning strategies will be used during the courses.
Slough DAAT is committed to being inclusive of people from all communities in the area. To help us do this, we ask that attendees indicate if they have any personal requirements necessary to facilitate their attendance. Further details on this can be found in the training programme which can be found here.
We hope to make our training courses educational but also enjoyable. Attendees are encouraged to participate fully and take advantage of the multi-agency environment.
If you would like an informal chat about our training programme, please contact us using the details shown on the 'Contact Us' page or in the panel to the right.
