Housing officer across agencies in Slough can offer you free and confidential advice on a wide range of housing problems and can help to find you suitable accommodation. They will help to prevent you from losing your home and help you to look at the options to find other accommodation.

The Housing Needs Team in Slough offers free and confidential advice on a wide range of housing problems and can help to find suitable accommodation. They aim to prevent you from losing your home and if they can't achieve this, they will help you look at the options to find other accommodation.You can be classed as in priority need, for example, if you are a victim of domestic abuse, suffering from drug and/or alcohol abuse, or are an older person.
You will be seen by a housing advisor who will assess whether you are in priority need. The staff can help you with:

housing advice - tenancy rights, joining the housing register

homelessness
-
temporary accommodation
-
resettlement - supporting families, young people and others who may be at risk of losing their home
If you are looking to rent private accommodation, the Slough Borough Council Deposit Guarantee Scheme has been developed to help those people who cannot afford a deposit.
This scheme:
-
aims to reduce the risk of financial loss or damage to landlords and there by encourage lettings to council nominated tenants
-
helps people move into private rented accommodation who otherwise would not be able to afford the deposit
-
does not cover rent arrears
-
makes the tenant responsible for rent due, damage caused and payment to the landlord for funds if the landlord makes a claim

REAP works with vulnerable single people (16+) without any dependants, who are in need of housing and/ or housing related support. They can offer support to help you make decisions and put your own ideas into action
A drop-in service provides:

assistance with form filling and getting in touch with housing providers

information about organisations offering specialist advice

on-going support including practical and emotional help

targeted tenancy support service specific to substance misusers

help planning and finding new furniture, planning budgets, shopping

sorting out benefit claims, applying for grants, filling forms

someone to listen to your problems and give advice
REAP does not provide or manage any emergency accommodation.
