There has been a lot of news coverage recently about a legal drug called Mephedrone - it has now been reclassifed (as of April 2010) as a CLASS B drug. This drug should not be confused with the Heroin substitute Methadone. Please refer to our drug factsheets for more information. You can also read the most recent updates about the BANNING of Mephedrone on the FRANK website.

A range of so called 'Legal Highs' GBL, BZP and chemicals sprayed on herbal smoking products known as 'Spice' have been banned by the Government and are no controlled under the Misuse Of Drugs Act 1971 from 23rd December 2009.
